    Daisuke Niwa: A Primer

    Generally, I feel lucky to know that one of my favorite characters of all time (if not my FAVORITE EVER) is generally well loved in our small fandom, both in the manga and in the anime adaptation.

    But I can’t help but notice that in many fanworks, Daisuke’s characterization is…well, it’s a little off.  A lot of this I can attribute to the anime, which took Daisuke’s base character and sort of stripped away some other personality traits to create more of an “every man” protagonist.  But even then, anime!Daisuke still has a few moments where his manga counterpart shines through…so the issue of Daisuke’s representation in fandom still stands.
